Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) was established in SIRT&S in the year 2007 with the prime objective of imparting quality education in the field of Electronics and Communication. The possibilities that the emerging field of technology provides are endless and so are the opportunities for the bright young minds of our country. We recognize the importance of quality education under able guidance and state of the art infrastructure and strive to provide a conducive environment for holistic learning and boundless success. Under the guidance of Dr. Mehajabeen Fatima, an acclaimed academician and teacher; the department offers Bachelor of Engineering program in Electronics & Communication Engineering and M. Tech course in the Digital Communication, affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi Technological University (RGTU).

Computer Centre

Software lab

Description : EC dept has its own software lab ( having latest configuration of computers) with latest software as MATLAB , SCILAB, Xilinx and PCB designing software which help them in designing EC projects. VLSI, DSP, DCS-II and software lab practicals are performing in this lab.

Class Room

There is an adequate number of classrooms in the department. Classrooms are accomplished with smart classes, LCD Projectors, OHP and other complimentary teaching aids.

i)The classroom is well ventilated for better air circulation & temperature regulation
ii) It effectively utilise the natural light for illumination

Departmental Library

The Department library has a strong collection of text books with over hundreds of titles on a variety of topics. Library also possesses journals, magazines, project and seminar reports, lab manuals and question banks and CDs of e-journals and e-books.
The collection is strong in all aspects with special strengths in Programming basics, Software development, Wireless Networking, Networking EDC, DCS, Embedded System and Microprocess.

Conference Hall

The Conference Room provides facilities and services for academic meetings, seminars, events as well as corporate recruitment procedures. The state of the art Conference Room provides an ambiance to concentrate solely on our task.

It includes:-
• Modern designs & interiors.
• HD – Projection system.
• Air Conditioners.
• Electrical & LAN connections for laptops.
• Wi-Fi connectivity.
• Conference table that seats 40.
• 30 additional seats at the perimeter of the room.

Lab Facilities

The department has a well equipped state of the art laboratories in Analog Electronics, Digital Electronics, Power Electronics, Computer Networks,Digital Signal Processing,VHDL, VLSI, Microcontrollers lab , Analog/Digital Communication, Advanced Communication and PG/Research LAB, containing the latest equipment to ensure that the students get excellent facilities to thoroughly understand and explore the concepts of electronics as learnt in the class-room.

ADC Lab

Analaog and Digital communication lab is a core branch lab , which is very well equipped with Branded Digital Storage Oscilloscope (DSO) of SCIENTIFIC company and Experimental kits of high standard FALCON company . The ratio of equipment- kit and student is 3:1.

Antenna Lab

It is a core branch lab which teach students concepts of Antenna and Wave propagation through experimental antenna kit of standard companies as dipole, array, parabolic, horn, lof antennas

Microprocessor Lab

: Its highly equipped lab consist of 8085, 8086 and microcontroller kits for teaching concept of microprocessor and microcontroller programming which is the base of embedded system.

Electronic Devices Lab

It has kits of SCIENTECH company which teaches basic concepts of transistor, diode and their characteristics.

1. Research paper of Prof. Nitesh Babele along with his research scholar Gaurav Jain is published in IJCA (issn no. 0975-8887) , vol 156, no.3 entitled a “Munltiband ebg Resonator Antenna for Performance Enhancement in uhf frequency band.”

2.Prof. Afreen Khursheed faculty of EC Departement along with her Mtech scholar Ankur published paper entitled “Survey Report on system of L-band 2 × 10 Gb/s WDM transmission over conventional single mode fibre with 600 km by chirped fibre Bragg gratings dispersion compensation” in International Journal of advancement in electronics and computer engineering ( IJAECE) Volume 06, Issue 3, May 2017.

Programme Educational Objectives


PEO-1: Student will be able to attain a solid foundation in Electronics and Communication Engineering fundamentals with an attitude to pursue continuing education.
PEO-2: Student will be able to develop necessary laboratory skills that will enable them to enhance Research and continue professional development in Electronics, communication and IT industries.
PEO-3: To inculcate in students effective communication skills, managerial skills, teamwork skills and multidisciplinary approach and an ability to relate engineering issues to broader social context.
PEO-4: Student will be able to build strong fundamental knowledge for competitive examination, pursuing post-graduation and to improve the employability of student in the public or private sectors.

Students are able to:

PO1. Apply knowledge of mathematics, basic sciences & engineering concepts to identify, formulate and solve electronics engineering problems.
PO2. Graduates will have the ability to define the state of the art problems and technical plan to provide solutions by dividing them into small steps and conducting experiments, interpreting and analyzing the data at each level.
PO3. Design solutions for electronics engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specific needs with appropriate considerations for public health safety and environmental considerations.
PO4. Graduates will apply design on tools to develop simulated model or hardware prototype, will conduct experiments or tests on it for various input conditions i.e. utilize tools to investigate, analyze, design, simulate and/or fabricate/commission complete systems)
